Steve's Sober House was instrumental in laying the foundation for my recovery during my 4 month stay. It gave me the opportunity to build strong bonds with other addicts struggling with addiction and helped me develop a strong support group
among my fellow peers. Mike Deshaies takes extra care with his residents
as well. I am truly grateful for Mike who traveled 400 miles to testify
for me in court as witness to my sobriety, which, in turn, helped me regain
custody of my son. He is genuine and willing to go great lengths in helping
his residents maintain sobriety and 16 months later I am still embracing mine. .......Carmen G.
There are no words to describe the compassion that encompasses the atmosphere at Steve's Sober House. When I arrived to Los Angeles from the east coast, Mike Deshaies drove to the airport in order to drive me back to Steve's House. He spent a generous amount of time with me, introducing me to other people involved in the recovery program and showing me the correct pathway to sobriety. Thanks to Mike and Steve' House, I was able to start my journey in recovery and successfully battle my disease of addiction. I will always be grateful to Mike Deshaies for helping save me from this horrific disease

Being newly sober and at sort of in a rough patch in life, I met the owner of Steve's Sober House and explained my living situation with him. I couldn't afford to stay in many sober livings but wasn't satisfied with my current arrangement. The owner apparently saw something he liked and decided to help me out. I have since spent some time here, celebrated a year sober and became manager. I like it here, there are good people here, and more than anything, the other night coming in from sa meeting and late night fellowship, as I locked up and checked in on everyone, it felt like home, something I haven't felt in a long time.
